Mert Jones, from North Carolina, was twenty-two when she picked up a manual camera for the first time as part of an introduction to photography class at Central Piedmont Community College. First Mert began shooting just about everything, then eventually narrowing their scope of artworks to alternative processes. Mert’s current art is focused in alternative photography methods, particularly experimenting with wet cyanotypes.
