Abby Johnson

Abby Johnson is an artist and curator whose work centers on community, collaboration, and contemporary visual culture. She holds a BFA in Studio Art from The University of Texas at Austin, where she graduated with honors.

She is the co-founder and curator of R&D Madison, a neighborhood contemporary art gallery dedicated to presenting innovative exhibitions and supporting emerging and established artists. In addition to her curatorial practice, she works across the arts in event planning and operational support, contributing to the behind-the-scenes work that brings creative projects to life.

Her artwork has been featured in exhibitions at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan, WI; Arts + Literature Laboratory in Madison, WI; and the Visual Arts Center in Austin, TX. Her practice reflects a sustained commitment to building meaningful artistic networks and presenting work that engages thoughtfully with place and community.
