Melanie’s creations are inspired by travels and old, antique and vintage items. She often restores old frames for her work, and also creates miniature paintings. She works primarily in acrylic paint but also uses gold leaf and oils. Her work features dreamy, idyllic scenery, florals and still lifes. She also creates jewelry and murals. Raised in the countryside, nature continues to be the primary subject of her works. She has been creating art shows for the last six years in the Madison area. She is visually impaired and her work has never failed to take her on unexpected journeys. Her art seeks to be a voice of inclusivity and empowerment for others, as well as bring peace with its dreamy aura.
